Poverty Is A Daily Challenge For Those We Help
- 1.5 million adult New Yorkers (24%) live in poverty .— nearly double the national poverty rate.
- 417,000 children in NYC (26%) live in poverty.
- A quarter of New York City residents don’t have enough income for staples like housing and food, and many say they cannot afford to go to the doctor.
- The poverty rate is highest in the Bronx
